Does the ViViPOS system need the internet to work?

Why doesn't my cash drawer open when I make a sale?
There are 4 common reasons why the cash drawer doesn't open:
1. It has to be plugged into your receipt printer, NOT the ViViPOS terminal
2. The cash drawer settings in the 'devices module' are incorrect
3. There is something obstructing the physical mechanism within the drawer, like coins or notes that have fallen out of the drawer tray
4. It's not an electronic cash drawer, so you need to push it manually to open
I've added a new product. Why won't it print in the kitchen?
If other products are printing fine (i.e. the printer is working) then you should check to make sure you have assigned the printer group to the product under 'Link Groups' and select 'Modify/Save'
How many printers can I use with the ViViPOS?
There is no limit to the number of network printers you can add. You can also configure more than one print group to the same printer to have multiple orders from each printer
Can I use a Barcode Scanner with the ViViPOS POS System?
Yes, the ViViPOS works with any USB scanner from Datalogic, Motorola & Honeywell. Great if you want to ring up items quickly without looking for a product key.
Is there a limit to the number of products I can add to the ViViPOS?
You can add as many products as you like. If you are adding a large number of products at once, then using a CSV file import function could save you time.
Can you have different 'Access Levels' for users?
YES, the ViViPOS POS system supports multiple definable levels (called 'Role Groups') that staff are assigned to. This means for example managers may be able to override standard prices or use the no-sale function to open the cash drawer, but the sales staff are not able to.
My business is expanding, can I buy another ViViPOS terminal and network it with the one I already have?
YES, the ViViPOS POS system is designed to be scalable. Whether you are adding another terminal to the local network or setting up another outlet and want to be able to do 'Group Reporting'

The ViViPOS works with any EPSON compatible serial or ethernet printer.
Does the ViViPOS POS system allow importing products from an XL spreadsheet?
YES, you can import and export menu items, condiments and departments via CSV files that can be edited in XL. A basic understanding of XL would be an advantage.
I've made changes to some products on my ViViPOS terminal, will my ViViMobile iPad app still work?
YES it will. If you have 'Use cached product menu' turned on in 'Settings' then you will need to re-download the products by selecting the 'Cloud Refresh' icon under settings icon.
I want to connect a network printer to my ViViPOS. How do I find my printer's IP Address?
To find out your printer's IP Address, turn off the printer. Hold the feed button and power on the printer. You should have the IP address printed on the 'test print sheet. If the printer's IP is not in the same subnet, its best to change them via PC. Remember to turn off the printer and switch back on to take it out of 'test mode' and allow normal printing functions
